The Strokes fit a pair of live debuts into the setlist for their show at The Forum in Los Angeles on Wednesday. “Call It Fate, Call It Karma” was premiered by the quintet to start their 17-song performance, which also included The Strokes’ first live “At The Door” later in the night.
“Call It Fate, Call It Karma” is the final track on the band’s 2013 studio album, Comedown Machine. The opener was followed by “12:51,” which along with “Reptilia” were the two songs from 2003’s Room On Fire played at The Forum. Next came “Bad Decisions” from The Strokes’ latest album, 2020’s The New Abnormal. The LP was also represented by “Brooklyn Bridge To Chorus,” “Ode To The Mets,” “The Adults Are Talking” and the aforementioned “At The Door” live debut.
The Strokes went heavy on material from their beloved 2001 debut album Is This It. “Someday,” “Take It For Leave It,” “It This It,” “Hard To Explain,” “Last Nite” and “New York City Cops” all saw action in L.A. “Last Nite” closed out the main set, while “New York City Cops” ended a three-song encore that also included what frontman Julian Casablancas described as a “mellow version” of Comedown Machine standout “One Way Trigger” and “The Adults Are Taking” from The New Abnormal.
