The String Cheese Incident Welcomes Anders Osborne On This Date In 2013

The death of legendary singer-songwriter J.J. Cale on July 26, 2013 was followed by many acts paying tribute to one of the originators of the Tulsa Sound. One such act was Colorado jam band The String Cheese Incident who played the iconic Red Rocks the night after Cale’s passing.

SCI honored J.J. Cale by covering “After Midnight” to kick off their first encore on July 27, 2013 at the Morrison, Colorado venue. The band was joined by New Orleans guitarist Anders Osborne for “After Midnight.” Osborne stuck around to add to the Cheese original “Outside & Inside.” The String Cheese Incident’s entire performance from that evening was broadcast live on AXS TV and can be viewed below.
