The String Cheese Incident Presents Shebang Spectacle At Electric Forest 2019
The String Cheese Incident closed out their time at the 2019 Electric Forest festival with their annual Shebang spectacle on Saturday night. The band was accompanied by dancers, fireworks, aerialists and other production elements at the Double JJ Resort in Rothbury, Michigan.
Cheese kicked off their first set on Saturday with “Colliding” and new song “Get To You” before going the classic route for a “Joyful Sound” that gave way to a jam the band used as a launching pad for “One Step Closer.” Another relatively new song, “Into The Blue” was followed by just the second “Big Shoes” of the past two years. Then, SCI ended the frame with a version of “Let’s Go Outside” that featured a rap and vocals from old pal LYNX.
The final SCI set of the weekend began with the band’s debut cover of “Baba O’Riley” by The Who. Keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth handled lead vocals as dancers took the stage and Jellyfish-like objects were sent into the crowd. Cheese segued into their own “Valley Of The Jig” and then busted out a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” for the first time since July 14, 2006. The wild light rig featured lots of lasers and fireworks exploded over the stage. “Believe” came next and then it was “Jellyfish” time. The String Cheese Incident ended the night with the pairing of “The Big Reveal” and “Beautiful.”
