The String Cheese Incident keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth detailed his song “Missin’ Me” on Episode 10 of his Kyle’s Classic Cuts series. In the video, Hollingsworth talks about the origins of the song and also busts out the accordion.
“Missin’ Me” is an SCI classic. According to Phantasy Tour, Cheese debuted the song in early 1998 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and, while it saw a three-year gap between 2007 – 2010 and sporadic play since, “Missin’ Me” was pretty much an SCI staple for a decade. It also appears on the band’s landmark live album, Carnival ‘99.

In the video, Kyle talks about how he actually recorded the song with his band before Cheese, Durt. Kyle reveals that while he probably wrote the song on piano, he also played accordion on the Durt recording and speaks to how the SCI version evolved from the original arrangement.
