Colorado’s The String Cheese Incident unearthed video featuring a well-jammed rendition of “Black & White” from 2000. The band shared the footage from the band’s July 19, 2000 visit to Mt. Shasta Ski Park in Mt. Shasta, California on YouTube.

SCI opened the night with a jam featuring bassist Keith Moseley on drums while “Michael Travis parasailed in from a nearby mountain and ran to the stage” as per Friends Of Cheese. The “Black & White” featured in the video below kicked off the second set. Multi-instrumentalist Michael Kang explained that Dain Pape helped him write the song, which was inspired by a local Shasta resident.

“Black & White” was debuted less than a year before SCI’s 2000 shows at Mt. Shasta. Cheese would go on to release a studio version of the song on 2001’s Outside Inside. Kang showed off his scatting skills during the “Black & White” from July 19, 2000 before the band brought the jam down to near silence. Guitarist Bill Nershi then took a jazzy solo ahead of keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth letting loose on synth. Kyle eventually moved over to organ and led his mates to a huge peak.
