The String Cheese Incident returned to The Capitol Theatre on Saturday night for a show featuring a pair of bust out The Beatles covers. The concert was the first of three in a row for the band at the storied Port Chester, New York venue.
Set one began with “Believe,” the dancey, sing-a-long title track from the bands 2017 release. The set rolled on with “So Far From Home” that they jammed on before landing on “Cedar Laurels.” SCI then offered “Gone Crooked,” Bollymunster,” and a combo of “Piece Of Mine” into “Let’s Go Outside,” which closed the set.
The show continued with the set two opener “Smile.” From there “Desert Dawn” led into a huge bust out cover of The Beatles’ “Polythene Pam,” which was last played by The String Cheese Incident on April 4, 2004. SCI kept the Abbey Road selections coming, shifting into The Beatles’ “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window,” which had not been played since August 13, 2017. Set two finished out with “Rivertrance,” a drums breakdown and the pairing of “The Big Reveal” with “All We Got.” The String Cheese Incident closed the night out with an extended encore started by a jam dedicated to the crew that led into “San Jose” and “Desert Dawn.”
