Stream Brandi Carlile ‘Cover Stories’ Charity Tribute Album

Next Friday, May 5, a new charity tribute album featuring covers of each tune from Brandi Carlile‘s 2007 album The Story will be issued with proceeds set to benefit the London-based international charity War Child. NPR Music has shared a stream of Cover Stories: Brandi Carlile Celebrates 10 Years of The Story – An Album to Benefit War Child over a week in advance of its release.

Pearl Jam, Jim James, The Avett Brothers, Kris Kristofferson, Margo Price, Old Crow Medicine Show and Indigo Girls are among those who contributed to the album. Dave Cobb produced Cover Stories and outside of Ruby Amanfu’s “Shadow On The Wall” and Adele’s “Hiding My Heart,” the tracks were laid down in 2016 expressly for this project. Adele recorded “Hiding My Heart” in 2011 and it was that version which inspired Cover Stories: Brandi Carlile Celebrates 10 Years of The Story – An Album to Benefit War Child.
