Sting Performs ‘Rushing Water’ On ‘Colbert’
Watch the legendary musician lead his band through the opening track from 'The Bridge.'
Sting performed “Rushing Water” during an appearance on Monday’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The song is the opening track on the acclaimed bassist’s forthcoming studio album, The Bridge.
The Bridge is set for release via A&M/Interscope/Cherrytree Records this Friday, November 19. Sting wrote and recorded his 15th studio album while self-quarantining during the pandemic. Guitarist Dominic Miller, drummer Josh Freese, saxophonist Branford Marsalis, drummer Manu Katché, keyboardists Martin Kierszenbaum and Fred Renaudin as well as backing vocalists Melissa Musique, Gene Noble, Jo Lawry and Laila Biali contributed to The Bridge remotely.
“The song ‘Rushing Water’ is a fitting start to an album that seeks to bridge all of the petty differences that can separate us,” Sting explained. Watch the bassist lead his touring band through the tune on last night’s Colbert below:
