Today Sting released his most rocking album in over a decade as 57th & 9th was issued. Sting celebrated the occasion last night, when he appeared on Thursday’s installment of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

The bassist discussed the election of President-Elect Donald Trump and compared his shock to what he felt in the wake of the Brexit vote. “I voted to stay. We’re right in the middle of a constitutional crisis which no one is smart enough to figure out … It’s a diabolical problem,” Sting said.

Other topics Sting talked about with Stephen were the origins of his new record, where its name came from, his love of mediation, how his music is the soundtrack of peoples’ lives and much more. Sting ended the episode with a rousing rendition of “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You” backed by a band that included longtime collaborators guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta.
