Stevie Nicks delivered a concert at London’s historic Hyde Park on Friday as part of the British Summer Time (BST) concert series. The two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee welcomed English pop star Harry Styles during the encore for a performance of “Landslide,” dedicated to Nicks’ late Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie, and her duet with the late Tom Petty, “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.”

Following the “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” performance, Styles — who inducted Nicks into the Rock Hall as a solo artist in 2019 — stayed on for “Landslide.” While Nicks has been dedicating the Fleetwood Mac standout to Christine McVie since her death in November 2022, the Hyde Park concert was special as it fell on what would have been McVie’s 81st birthday.

Stevie addressed the audience ahead of the performance:

“I asked Harry to do this, and it’s always heavy to ask someone to come and sing the song with you when you’re singing about your best friend that died so suddenly and so sadly. What I want you to know is that Christine was Harry’s girl, she was my girl, she was your girl. She was from here. And she loved all of us. And today was her birthday.”

“It’s taken me all this time to be able to even try and deal with this situation,” referring to McVie’s death at 79 in November 2022. One thing that my mom used to say to me when I was little, when I was hurt, she’d go, ‘Stevie, when you’re hurt, you always run to the stage.’ And that’s what I’ve been doing ever since Chris passed away is running to the stage, because the only people that have been able to help me to get over this has been all of you,” she confessed, holding onto Styles’ hand. “And you have done that every night like clockwork. You have made me better, and I want you to know how much I appreciate that. And, so, we go on. Thank you, everybody. Harry, thank you. I thank you. We thank you.”

Nicks’ BST appearance at Hyde Park also saw performances from Brandi Carlile, Anna Calvi, Paris Paloma and more. Stevie kicked off the headline slot with “Outside the Rain” off her 1981 debut solo album Bella Donna. The set was also full of her Fleetwood Mac classics including “Dreams,” “Gypsy” and “Gold Dust Woman” along with an additional Tom Petty cover, “Free Fallin,” and a take on Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth.”

The main set came to a close with Nicks’ solo standout “Edge of Seventeen” ahead of encore kickoff “Rhiannon” followed by the Harry Styles guest spot to seal the show.
