This summer renowned musicians Steely Dan and Steve Winwood will once again pair up for a tour together. The second leg of The Dan Who Knew Too Much Tour finds Donald Fagen and Walter Becker and the former member of The Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith teaming up just as they did in 2011 for a tour of Australia and New Zealand. This week’s edition of Sunday Cinema takes a look back on that tour of Rock And Roll Hall Famers in the Southern Hemisphere.

Steely Dan first performed in Australia in 2007 and returned with Winwood on board for the Shuffle Diplomacy Tour in 2011 that saw stops cities such as Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Yarra Valley and Adelaide as well as Auckland and Wellington in neighboring New Zealand. Winwood sat-in with Steely Dan a number of times during the tour Down Under, often augmenting The Dan’s “Pretzel Logic” to start off the evening’s encore.

The October 30, 2011 Shuffle Diplomacy Tour stop at Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia featured Winwood sitting in on “Pretzel Logic,” and also sticking around for a take on Junior Walker & The Allstars’ hit “(I’m a) Road Runner.” Audience-shot video footage of Winwood sitting-in on organ on both songs can be viewed in the videos captured by freddie twotone below:
