Steve Miller Joins Billy Joel At Madison Square Garden
By Andy Kahn Dec 21, 2017 • 9:34 am PST

Billy Joel’s monthly residency at Madison Square Garden continued Wednesday night in New York City. The show, which was originally supposed to take place on June 6 but was moved due to illness, saw the Piano Man joined by Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame guitarist Steve Miller.
Joel mixed some Christmas carols and holiday tunes into his setlist last evening, incorporating interludes of “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Sleigh Ride” between songs. Miller emerged mid-set and offered the audience a choice of seeing a collaborative performance of his 1967 single “Living In The U.S.A.” or his well-known hit “The Joker.” The rousing response for the latter was soon followed by a performance of the 1973 classic rock favorite.
