Stephen Malkmus Shares New Song ‘Juliefuckingette’ & Announces Rescheduled Tour Dates
Stephen Malkmus shared new song “Juliefuckingette,” culled from the sessions for the singer-songwriter’s 2020 album, Traditional Techniques. Malkmus also detailed rescheduled 2021 tour dates.
The refreshed dates — which will feature support from Qais Essar & the Magik Carpet — span March and April of 2021 and get underway on March 2 in Minneapolis followed by plays in Milwaukee, Chicago, Nashville and Atlanta. The tour then swings through North Carolina en route to the Northeast with concerts in Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York and Boston. After an engagement at Burlington, Vermont’s Higher Ground, Malkmus heads through Canada before dipping back down into the Midwest with shows in Cleveland and Detroit ahead of a stop in Denver and a run through Texas on his way to the West Coast with shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and more.
The former Pavement frontman heralds the rescheduled tour dates with the song “Juliefuckingette.” Matablog described the song as “an A-side-worthy B-side off Traditional Techniques…’Juliefuckingette’ is new phase folk music for new phase folks.”
