Steely Dan Kicks Off The Dan Who Knew Too Much Tour In Port Chester

By Scott Bernstein Apr 19, 2016 1:58 pm PDT

Legendary jazz-rock act Steely Dan began their “The Dan Who Knew Too Much” U.S. Tour last night at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. Steely Dan stuck to a similar script as a 2015 tour with a setlist that included at least one song from every studio album except Pretzel Logic.

Co-founding members Donald Fagen and Walter Becker were joined by a band that included keyboardist Jim Beard, drummer Keith Carlock, backing vocalists La Tanya Hall, Carolyn Leonhart and Cindy Mizelle, a horn section of Michael Leonhart, Jim Pugh, Roger Rosenberg and Walt Weiskopf as well as guitarist Jon Herington and bassist Freddie Washington. The band played “November Afternoon” as Donald and Walter strolled on stage with “Black Cow” the first song of the night to feature all of the musicians.

Steely Dan treated fans to many of their most-beloved songs last night such as “Hey Nineteen,” “Black Friday,” “Show Biz Kids,” “Bodhisattva,” “Josie,” “Peg,” “My Old School” and “Reelin’ In The Years.” Becker stepped up front to handle lead vocals on “Daddy Don’t Live In That New York City No More” to give Fagen a song off. “Kid Charlemagne” served as encore while the band said farewell to the theme from “The Untouchables.” Steely Dan returns to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York again tonight.
