Jazz-rockers Steely Dan has reached the tail end of their first tour since co-founding member Walter Becker died. As reported the band has fit a few bust outs into the mix for the run including one of Becker’s songs played in honor of Walter that is accompanied by a montage of photos featuring the late guitarist. A few shows into the run Steely Dan added a song that hadn’t played since 1996 according to setlists.
In 1982 Donald Fagen, Becker’s partner in crime, released his debut solo album The Nightfly. The eight-track album includes “New Frontier,” a gem Steely Dan dusted off for the first time since July 20, 2013 on opening night and have performed at each show since. Four shows into the tour, on October 17th in Buffalo, Steely Dan played “Green Flower Street,” another tune from The Nightfly. As per Setlist.FM Steely Dan had gone between October 12, 1996 and October 17, 2017 without performing the Fagen solo classic. Setlist.FM documents versions of “Green Flower Street” at each concert since including Sunday night’s performance at the Oakdale in Wallingford, Connecticut.
