A free all-star concert dubbed “Surrealistic Summer Solstice 2” will be held at the Conservatory Of Flowers in San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Park on June 20. ALO guitarist Lebo (Dan Lebowitz) will serve as musical director for a concert revisiting songs from 1968 featuring members of such legendary bands as Big Brother & The Holding Company, Jefferson Starship and New Riders Of The Purple Sage along with musicians from a new generation of Bay Area acts.
Steve Adams of ALO, Dylan Chambers and Lester Chambers of The New Chambers Brothers, Melvin Seals of the Jerry Garcia Band, Greg Errico of Sly & The Family Stone and Dave Getz and Darby Gould of Big Brother & The Holding Company are a few of the musicians aboard for the event. Norman Greenbaum, Greg Anton (Zero), Greg Loiacono (The Mother Hips), Jay Lane (Primus, RatDog), Stu Allen, Ziek McCarter (Con Brio) and Jason Crosby (Terrapin Family Band) will also perform at Surrealistic Summer Solstice Jam 2.
The lineup also includes Moonalice members Roger McNamee, Pete Sears, Barry Sless and John Molo as well as Alex Morrison and Ben Morrison of The Brothers Comatose, David LaFlamme and Linda LaFlamme of It’s A Beautiful Day, Tim Caine of Sons Of Champlin, RatDog’s Mark Karan, Ezra Lipp of Magic In The Other, The Terrapin Family Band’s Ross James and Scott Law.
