Spotted Tiger, a band featuring violist Laurence Scudder and guitarist Erik White joined by a rotating lineup of Boston musicians, have just released their debut album, Cloud Year. Scudder came up through the ranks as a longtime member of the Ryan Montbleau Band and shows off not only his musicianship but his songwriting on the eight-track effort.

White and Scudder are joined by Laurence’s old RMB mates percussionist Yahuba Garcia- Torres and drummer James Cohen on each of the folk-blues tracks. Bass duties are split between Jim Larkin and Matthew Giannaros. The group has been winning new fans across New England with their sometimes acoustic, always eclectic performances and brought that energy into the studio.

Cloud Year is available for streaming and purchase (pay what you’d like) via Bandcamp:

Next up for Spotted Tiger is a performance at Toad in Cambridge on December 2.
