Watch Spafford Break Out Ryan Adams Cover For 1st Time Since 2012 In Cleveland

Spafford brought their 2024 Winter Tour to Clevealnd on Friday. The band broke out Ryan Adams’ “To Be Young (Is to Be Sad, Is to Be High)” for the first time since 2012.
The Ryan Adams bust out kicked off the second set. Spafford last played the track off Adams’ 2000 debut solo album Heartbreaker in their home state of Arizona on December 22, 2012 for a gap of 750 shows, as per Spaffnerds. Watch Spafford dust off “To Be Young (Is to Be Sad, Is to Be High)” below:

The quartet launched the concert with a four song set that included two jams surpassing the 20-minute mark on opener “Shelter in Place” and their recently unveiled a cover of The Temptations’ “The Way You Do The Things You Do.” The first frame also included the funky “Frog Gossip” and closed with “Mind’s Unchained.”
Following the Ryan Admas cover, Spafford’s second set in Cleveland saw a monster “Leave The Light On,” which stretched to nearly 28 minutes. Filter’s “Take A Picture” followed before the band fit “Palisades” within “Weasel” to seal the second set. Spaff returned to encore with “Ain’t That Wrong.”
