A mini-documentary entitled The Bowlive Story tells the tale of Soulive’s residencies. “Part 1: The Genesis” profiles the birth of Brooklyn Bowl and how the venue’s owners, Peter Shapiro and Charley Ryan, convinced the trio to perform 10 nights during the first run in 2010. Soulive members Eric Krasno, Neal Evans and Alan Evans each talk about how special the residency has become after they were hesitant at first. Neal explains how intense the process of learning the songs were in 2010, while Alan recalls how wiped out he was just halfway into the residency and Eric details how the trio’s repertoire was expanded in such a big way from their Bowlive experience.
