Soul Coughing followed their first show in 25 years with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The recently reunited band performed “Super Bon Bon” on Thursday’s episode of the late-night talk show.
Soul Coughing’s unexpected reunion tour began on Wednesday with a concert in Solana Beach, California. The tour featuring the original four members of Soul Coughing – Mike Doughty, Sebastian Steinberg, Mark degli Antoni and Yuval Gabay – continues tonight in Los Angeles.

Soul Coughing formed in New York City in 1992 and their debut album, Ruby Vroom, was released in 1994. The band’s second album, Irresistible Bliss arrived in 1996. A third and final Soul Coughing album, El Oso, came out in 1998.
Soul Coughing broke up in 2000. The animosity between the members of the band in the aftermath of the breakup made Soul Coughing’s reunion seem unlikely.
While introducing Soul Coughing on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, host Jimmy Kimmel announced a 30th anniversary reissue of Ruby Vroom. The expanded version of the album contains five bonus tracks and will be released on December 6.
