The Smashing Pumpkins issued a new single “Solara” recorded with producer Rick Rubin. The song is the first studio track to feature Billy Corgan with founding members guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin since 2000.

The heavy-hitting “Solara” is one of eight songs Smashing Pumpkins tracked with Rubin at Shangri La Studios in Malibu according to an interview Corgan gave to Lars Ulrich. Guitarist Jeff Schroeder also contributed to the new single. Bassist D’arcy Wretzky is the only founding member who didn’t add to the track and she also won’t take part in the band’s upcoming Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour.
