The Smashing Pumpkins will kick off the Shiny & Oh So Bright Tour featuring three out of four original members of the band in Glendale, Arizona on July 12. A first look at the lineup that will hit the road this summer will come this Monday, June 11 when Smashing Pumpkins serve as the musical guest on NBC late night television show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Guitarist/vocalist Billy Corgan will be joined by guitarist James Iha, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and guitarist Jeff Schroeder for the tour. Corgan formed Smashing Pumpkins with Iha, Chamberlin and bassist D’arcy Wretzky in 1988. Wretzky is not expected to participate in the tour following a public blowout with Corgan earlier this year.
Jack Bates will serve as bassist on the Shiny & Oh So Bright Tour. Smashing Pumpkins are currently expected to conclude the tour in Edmonton, Alberta on September 9.
Jimmy Fallon’s other guests on the episode will be Jim Parsons and Marlon Wayans.
