Exclusive Premiere: Slightly Stoopid Shares ‘Stay The Same (Prayer For You)’ Video

Southern California’s Slightly Stoopid will release their guest-filled ninth studio album Everyday Life, Everyday People on July 13. JamBase is pleased to premiere the official video for band’s latest single “Stay The Same (Prayer For You)” featuring longtime collaborator Don Carlos.
Slighty Stoopid recruited multiple producers to contribute to the 13-track effort including James M. Wisner, George Spits (LlamaBeats), Michael “Miguel” Happoldt, Jerry Wonda and Colin “Bulby” York. UB40’s Ali Campbell, reggae star Alborosie, blues-rocker G. Love, rapper Chali 2na, Sly Dunbar of Sly & Robbie fame and Yellowman each collaborated with the band on Everyday Life, Everyday People tracks.

Members of Slightly Stoopid’s family as well as Don Carlos, SOJA, Yellowman, The Grouch, Eligh and Zion I make cameos in the “Stay The Same (Prayer For You)” video, which was filmed in the band’s home neighborhood of Ocean Beach in San Diego. “‘Stay the Same (Prayer For You)’ was written and recorded at Stoopid Studios in San Diego by Don Carlos and Slightly Stoopid,” reads a note from the band. “This song was recorded as a means of strength, love and some sort of drive to keep pushing through when times are hardest. It is dedicated to anyone who needs the love, prayers and strength.”
