Slightly Stoopid Creates Smokable Hash Record

California-based reggae rock band Slightly Stoopid has created a phonographic record made entirely from hashish. The potent marijuana concentrate was used to press the group’s song “Dabbington.”

As reported by Billboard, the band and their management team at Silverback Music created two expensive prototypes, with both records each utilizing $6,000 of bubble hash. They spent an additional $1,000 to have Los Angeles vinyl-mastering studio Capsule Labs stamp and master the 12-inch discs.

“Originally, we wanted to do this to bring awareness to legalization,” said Jon Phillips of Silverback Music. “It’s not something you’re going to plop on your turntable over and over again. For now, this is an art piece.”

According to Billboard’s article, the first attempt at a hash record produced listenable but not high quality sound. A second attempt produced worse audio results. A third attempt is reportedly planned for later this year.
