Skull & Roses Announces 2020 Lineup

Billy & The Kids, Oteil & Friends and Voodoo Dead are among the acts on Skull & Roses’ 2020 lineup. The Grateful Dead-themed festival returns to the Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura, California April 2 – 5.
Skull & Roses 2020 marks the first time in the event’s four-year history it will host an original member of the Grateful Dead. Drummer Bill Kreutzmann will bring his Billy & The Kids project to the stage for the first time in four years. The soon-to-be-reunited band also includes bassist Reed Mathis, keyboardist Aron Magner and guitarist Tom Hamilton. Billy & The Kids made their debut at Warren Haynes’ Christmas Jam in 2014 and performed a series of festival appearances and headlining shows through a 2016 visit to the Wanee Festival.

Dead & Company bassist Oteil Burbridge put together an Oteil & Friends lineup for the event that also features guitarist Eric Krasno, drummer John Kimock and multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby. The rest of Burbridge’s lineup will be revealed soon. As for Voodoo Dead, guitarist Steve Kimock will be joined by bassist George Porter Jr., drummer John Kimock, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and multi-instrumentalist Jackie Greene for their Skull & Roses performance.
Skull & Roses will also host Melvin Seals & JGB, Jackie Greene, Keller Williams’ Grateful Grass, Circles Around The Sun, Ghost Light, Grateful Shred, David Nelson Band and more. The festival will start with a Kick-Off Party on Thursday, April 2 at night featuring Stu Allen & Mars Hotel and Rooster Conspiracy featuring Jay Lane, Todd Stoops and Reed Mathis. Music runs from 11 a.m. through midnight on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. on Sunday.
