Sia was the musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday. The Australian singer-songwriter delivered a cover of the Peter Gabriel classic “Solsbury Hill” for the late-night television performance.

An appropriate choice as both Sia and Peter Gabriel are skilled in the visual as well as the sonic arts, Sia also covered “Solsbury Hill” for the Humane World for Animals (formerly the Humane Society) organization. All proceeds from the Greg Kurstin-produced single benefit the organization.

“[‘Solsbury Hill’ is] a perfect blend of emotion and hope, and it’s perfect backdrop to the organization’s new ad campaign,” Sia told People in a recent interview. “The chorus perfectly captures the joy and the freedom animals feel when they’re rescued. It’s like coming home. It’s the ideal anthem for the life-changing work Humane World for Animals is doing every day. I really hope the new video and version of ‘Solsbury Hill’ resonates with a whole new generation of listeners because, together, we can create real, lasting change for the animals who need us most.”

“Solsbury Hill” was Peter Gabriel’s debut solo single in 1977 after leaving Genesis. He also included the song on his self-titled premiere LP.

“Peter Gabriel’s one of my musical heroes, and this song was like pure magic,” Sia added on her “Solsbury Hill” cover. “To get to sing it for the cause is a dream come true.”
