SF International Film Festival To Screen Grateful Dead Documentary ‘Long Strange Trip’

The long-awaited Grateful Dead documentary Long Strange Trip will premiere via Amazon Prime Video on June 2. Producers of the film have arranged a series of screenings ahead of its Amazon premiere, one of which will take place in the city that birthed the band – San Francisco.
The 60th SF International Film Festival will host a screening of the 238-minute film at the Castro Theatre on Apri 15 at 6:30 p.m. PT. Tickets are still available as of press time via the festival’s website. Director Amir Bar-Lev is expected to attend the April 15 screening.
Long Strange Trip made its world debut in January at the Sundance Film Festival. Producers include Eric Eisner, Nick Koskoff, Ken Dornstein and film financer Alex Blavatnik. Additional producers include Justin Kreutzmann and others as well as executive producers Martin Scorsese and surviving Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir.
