Guitarist Steve Jones broke his wrist, forcing Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter to postpone their upcoming tour dates. The band was scheduled to begin the North American run on September 16 in Dallas.

Sex Pistols Featuring Frank Carter consists of Jones’ fellow co-founding Sex Pistols members, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock, performing with vocalist Frank Carter. Support for the postponed tour celebrating Sex Pistols’ only album, 1977’s Never Mind the Bollocks, included Militarie Gun, The Potato Pirates, The Molotovs and at select stops.

According to the postponement announcement, the tour will be “rescheduled when Steve has fully recovered.” Further updates will be provided by venues and the band’s social media accounts.

Jones, who today turned 70 years old, shared the statement below addressing his injury:

“I’ve got some good news and bad news. What do you want first? Okay, the bad news: I’ve broken my wrist, so unfortunately, we won’t be doing any shows for a while.

“The good news is the surgeon said I will be back playing guitar in the not-too-distant future. The other good news is I’ll be 70 tomorrow! God bless, and God save the wrist.”
