Scott Sharrard To Perform Pink Floyd’s ‘Animals’ With Special Guests

By Scott Bernstein Jan 12, 2017 1:35 pm PST

Guitarist Scott Sharrard will perform Pink Floyd’s landmark Animals album at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City on January 20. Sharrard will welcome special guests at this benefit for non-profit organization ProPublica.

Sharrard, who serves as the Gregg Allman Band’s musical director, will be joined by guitarist/vocalist Connor Kennedy, Fab Faux drummer/vocalist Rich Pagano, former RatDog saxophonist Kenny Brooks and Broadway star Josh Kobak on the 20th. Here’s what Scott had to say about the performance:

“One subject we can all agree on in these crazy and divided times is that this world requires media transparency and vigilance now more than ever. Pro Publica is a non-profit, independent, non-partisan news source that is funded by the public and is based right here in NYC. This show will be a celebration of freedom of speech and transparency in media that is vital for our collective survival. Pink Floyd has always been an arbiter of truth to me, plus their music has a great groove. Gilmour can play the blues and Roger Waters is a pure poetic visionary… In recent years I spent time with Gregg Allman digging “Live at Pompeii” (they are one of Greggs favorite bands…) and I’ve also played with my good buddy Connor Kennedy in recent years who will be joining us (We actually played Animals at the Bearsville theater a few years back). The ticket sales will go directly to Pro Publica for this show. We will also have some very special guests joining in and we will also be adding a couple other Floyd gems to fill out the night. Stay awake. Come get some Floyd and help spread some truth!”
