Scott McMicken of Dr. Dog released the first single from a new project, Scott McMicken and THE EVER – EXPANDING. “Another One” arrived today via McMicken’s new label ANTI- along with a video captured at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, New York.
With Philadelphia favorites Dr. Dog on hiatus since 2021, McMicken set out to assemble a new band. As Dr. Dog was a collection of lifelong friends, Scott flipped the script and set out to create a group largely made up of strangers — entrusting engineer, producer and friend Nick Kinsey to create the band save for the inclusion of McMicken’s longtime friend and collaborator Michael Nau.
“I needed to go into it with as little control as possible,” McMicken said. “I just want to be in a room with wonderful people and encourage them to be themselves and be present to create nice musical moments.”
Along with McMicken, Kinsey and Nau, THE EVER – EXPANDING is also comprised of Elizabeth Pupo-Walker, Neil Ochoa, Jared Samuel, Zach Tenorio, and Paul Castelluzzo. Watch the video for the group’s debut single, “Another One,” below:
