Scott Law & Ross James’ Cosmic Twang Welcome Special Guests At Terrapin Crossroads

All week long Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, California has been celebrating the venue’s fifth anniversary. Wednesday was the actual anniversary of the date Terrapin Crossroads opened and Scott Law & Ross James’ Cosmic Twang played a guest-filled show in the Grate Room last night in honor of the occasion.

While Terrapin Crossroads proprietor Phil Lesh was scheduled to guest with the band, he was unable to perform as he’s battling a cold. Widespread Panic bassist Dave Schools wound up handling bass duties all night. Scott and Ross were also joined by keyboardist Jason Crosby, vocalist Nicki Bluhm, multi-instrumentalists Cass McCombs and Barry Sless as well as drummers Mark Levy and Alex Koford at various points of the evening. Highlights included a wild “Light Up Or Leave Me Alone”/”New Speedway Boogie” sequence, a tender “The Stranger (Two Souls In Communion)” sung by McCombs and a joyous “Help On The Way” > “Slipknot!” >”Franklin’s Tower” featuring many of the night’s special guests.
