Singer-songwriter Sasha Alex Sloan served as the musical guest on Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Sloan performed the intensely beautiful song “Highlights” on the late-night talk show.
“Highlights” is featured on Sasha Alex Sloan’s new album, Me Again, which is set for release on May 17. The record, Sloan’s third, was written and recorded in her current hometown of Nashville. Sloan crafted the majority of the songs on Me Again with her husband, King Henry, but not “Highlights.”

The Nashville-based artist crafted the song in collaboration with Jimmy Robbins (Maren Morris, Thomas Rhett). “Jimmy started playing this guitar riff and I was like, ‘Do you have time to write another one because I really love that…’ Luckily, he did and ‘Highlights’ poured out,” Sloan explained when the single was released in February. “This is a song I’ve been trying to write for a long time. Writing it was a cathartic experience and it makes me emotional every time I listen to it.”
Sloan was accompanied by guitarist James Marino for her “Highlights” performance on Fallon. Check it out below:
