New England based singer-songwriter Ryan Montbleau has confirmed the upcoming release of a new studio album I Was Just Leaving. The Anders Osborne-produced record will be officially released on March 3.

Montbleau teamed with Osborne at Esplanade Studios in New Orleans to record I Was Just Leaving over the course of four days in January of last year. Montbleau will perform a “first-of-it’s-kind” debut of I Was Just Leaving with a live stream of a complete performance of the album on Facebook Live. The live session is part of a partnership with Pledge Music and Life is Good and will take place February 16 at 9 p.m. ET.

Here’s a message from Ryan about the album:

These songs were recorded in the control room of Esplanade Studios New Orleans in January of 2016. Anders Osborne ensured their rawness, brought out their soul and Mark Howard made them shimmer. Those two were a dream team for capturing songs from the heart.

After 15 years of going crazy to build a life in music, I found that most of my days were now spent alone in a room reflecting on those years. These songs came out of that space. I thought I’d tried to build a home, but it turns out I was just leaving.

Live and learn. In love,

Ryan
