Ryan Adams & The Shining Debut New Song At Red Rocks Tour Closer

On Wednesday night Ryan Adams ended his Summer Tour with a performance at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. Adams and The Shining’s 29-song set included the debut of an original, an improvised song about the singer-songwriter’s love for the band, an Oasis cover and a tune played twice.
Ryan mixed material from throughout his career over the course of the night. “Let It Ride,” “Cold Roses,” “Fix It” and “Magnolia Mountain” were among the songs played from the Cardinals era and his 2000 solo debut was represented by “Shakedown On 9th Street,” “Come Pick Me Up,” “Oh My Sweet Carolina” and “To Be Young (Is To Be Said, Is To Be High).” While “Shakedown On 9th Street” was performed towards the beginning of the show, the band played it again as the penultimate song of the night due to a faulty ending the first time around.
Recently, Ryan revealed he’s hard at work on a new album and he’s debuted a handful of tunes this summer that might appear on the LP. Last night’s new debut was called “Do You Still Love Me?” and has a hard rock edge. A stirring moment came near the end of the set, when Adams improvised a song that discussed brotherhood and how much he loves playing with The Shining. He came up with a lyric about each member including “Daniel who smokes more pot than me before the show” about keyboardist Daniel Clarke. The song’s chorus was “I’ll never love a band more than I love The Shining.”
