Singer-songwriter Ryan Adams today released his new studio album entitled Prisoner. Adams has detailed a number of concerts as part of the Prisoner Tour in support of his 16th studio album.
Adams has recently been backed by a band made up of keyboardist Ben Alleman, drummer Nate Lotz, bassist Charlie Stavish and guitarist Benny Yurco of Grace Potter & The Nocturnals. The new dates include the Beacon Theatre in New York City on May 3, followed by stops in Portland, Maine and Toronto, Canada. Jenny Lewis will support Adams on May 10 at Blue Hills Bank in Boston and May 12 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.
Newly confirmed West Coast shows include June 1 in Santa Barbara, June 2 in Berkeley and June 3 in Los Angeles, California. The tour moves to Salt Lake City on June 18 and Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado on June 20 with Nicki Bluhm and The Infamous Stringdusters. Four nights in Canada follow including stops in Calgary, Edmonton, Victoria and Vancouver between June 22 and 27. The West Coast segment wraps with nights in Seattle on June 28 and Troutdale, Oregon on June 29.
A Midwest run now includes a July 29 stop in St. Paul, Minnesota, followed by Milwaukee on July 30, and St. Louis on August 1. A European leg begins September 8 and continues through September 22 with stops in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Tickets to the new shows go on sale February 24 at 10 a.m. local time. Adams also announced the premiere of his Beats 1 radio program The Midnight Wave. The new show will debut at midnight PT on February 19 and will be aired every other week.
