The Rolling Stones Play ‘Rocks Off’ By Request In Barcelona

Legendary rock band The Rolling Stones continued the No Filter Tour on Wednesday night at Estadi Olimpic in Barcelona, Spain. In keeping with tradition, the band played a song voted on by fans and the winner was a tune The Stones hadn’t performed in over two years.

The Rolling Stones began last night’s show with “Sympathy For The Devil,” “It’s Only Rock & Roll (But I Like It)” and “Tumbling Dice” before playing two blues covers they had recorded for 2016’s Blue & Lonesome. “Under My Thumb” came next and then it was time to find out which song had won out in fan voting. “Rocks Off” from 1972’s iconic Exile On Main St. beat out “All Down The Line,” “Bitch” and “Live With Me.” The Stones had last performed “Rocks Off” back on July 8, 2015.

Later in the night, guitarist Keith Richards had his turn in the spotlight for “Happy” and “Slipping Away.” The Rolling Stones then reeled off one beloved hit after another including “Miss You,” “Street Fighting Man,” “Start Me Up” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.” For the encore, the group ended the evening with “Gimme Shelter” followed by “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.”

The Rolling Stones continue the tour in Amsterdam on Saturday.
