The Rolling Stones Dust Off ‘Sweet Virginia’ & ‘She’s So Cold’ In Europe

Famed rockers The Rolling Stones continued their No Filter tour of Europe with shows in Solna, Sweden on Thursday night and Arhhem, Netherlands on Sunday night. Both concerts featured a tour debut in the slot in which the Stones play a song by fan request.

The Stones’ No Filter shows have followed a similar format. A run of “Sympathy For The Devil,” “It’s Only Rock & Roll (But I Like It)” and “Tumbling Dice” kicks off the show before The Stones treat the crowd to a pair of blues covers off their 2016 Blue & Lonesome release. Mick Jagger & Co.’s next two slots are where they change it up from night-to-night.

On Thursday, the iconic band brought back “Under My Thumb” after a few shows off. Then, The Rolling Stones served up “Sweet Virginia,” which beat out three other songs in fan voting. “Sweet Virginia” had been on the shelf since the Stones’ appearance at the inaugural Desert Trip festival in 2016. Last night, “She’s So Cold” won out in fan voting. The Rolling Stones last performed the Emotional Rescue gem on February 16, 2016.

The Rolling Stones’ performances in Sweden and The Netherlands rolled on with hits “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” “Paint It Black” and “Honky Tonk Woman” ahead of Keith Richards‘ turn fronting the group on “Happy” and “Slipping Away.” More hits followed including “Street Fighting Man” and “Brown Sugar.” All told, the band played 18-song main sets along with encores of “Gimme Shelter” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.”
