Rodrigo y Gabriela Cover Van Morrison’s ‘Moondance’

Rodrigo y Gabriela shared a cover of the Van Morrison classic “Moondance.” The classical guitar duo took to social media to share the instrumental as part of their Lumbini Sessions.

“Moondance” originally appears on Van Morrison’s 1970 album of the same name. The song showcases Van’s jazzier side and Rody y Gab give a little history on Morrison’s early influences in their social post.

“Belfast cowboy Was 11 years old when his dad bought him his first acoustic guitar. He learned the basics from the song book of the Carter family. Way before that, when Van was tiny, he used to listen to the largest records collections in Northern Ireland that his dad owned (we think his dad was awesome 😸) at that time little van was exposed to diverse genres of music from Charlie Parker to Jimmy Rogers, Muddy Waters and Hank Williams.”
