Keyboardist Robert Walter shared new singles “Better Feathers” and “Blood Star,” the latest installment of his Better Feathers “digital 45s” series. The former features Stanton Moore of Galactic, while the latter includes Turkuaz multi-instrumentalist Craig Brodhead.

Better Feathers consists of six “digital 45s” issued by Royal Potato Family. Walter penned and recorded all 12 tracks at home in 2020 and 2021 as he self-quarantined after the pandemic began. “It was time to shift gears and think of the situation as a positive and not a negative; an unexpected abundance of time to emerge with something of value,” Robert said when the series was first announced.

Robert Walter launched the series on June 30 by releasing “Or Else” and “Franklin.” Next came “Saucerman” featuring Mike Gordon and Stanton adding to “Devices Of Similar Size” on July 21. Better Feathers continues on September 1 with “Security” featuring John Kimock and “It’s Not What.” Additional “digital 45s” drop on September 22 and October 27.
