Guitarist Robert Fripp of King Crimson and Toyah Willcox shared a cover of Hawkwind’s “Silver Machine.” Guitarist Sidney Jake once again joined the husband and wife duo for the latest edition of Toyah and Robert’s Sunday Lunch.

Formed in 1969, Hawkwind were on the vanguard of progressive rock along with Fripp’s King Crimson and are considered one of the earliest space rock groups as well as a proto-punk band. Hawkwind originally released “Silver Machine,” which features bassist Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead among others (Toyah and Robert have previously covered Motörhead’s “Ace Of Spades”), as a single in 1972 and it became one of the band’s most commercially successful songs.
