On September 20, legendary singer-songwriter Robbie Robertson will issue his new solo album, Sinematic, via UMe. The latest single from The Band guitarist is “Let Love Reign,” which includes guest vocals from Glen Hansard.

“Let Love Reign” owes a debt of gratitude to John Lennon. “Some people think John Lennon’s dream about love and togetherness went up in flames, I think that’s wrong. It’s everlasting,” explained Robertson in a statement. “There was something a little naive about John Lennon going around singing about peace, but in that period young people celebrating love and peace helped end a war.”

Robbie produced the 13-track LP and was backed by a band of bassist Pino Palladino, keyboardist Martin Pradler, drummer Chris Dave, guitarist Afie Jurvanen and vocalist Felicity Williams. Contributors include Van Morrison, Jim Keltner, Derek Trucks, Citizen Cope, J.S. Ondara, Laura Satterfield, Doyle Bramhall II, Frédéric Yonnnet and Howie B.
