Rob Eaton To Miss A Series Of Upcoming Dark Star Orchestra Dates

Grateful Dead tribute act Dark Star Orchestra will return to the road on March 30 in Charlottesville, Virginia to start a spring tour. The band will be without rhythm guitarist/vocalist Rob Eaton, who is expected to return to the fold on April 13 in Charlotte.

“Due to unforeseen family health circumstances Rob Eaton on rhythm guitar and vocals is unable to join us for shows March 30 – April 12,” reads a note from DSO. “During this time period, Dark Star Orchestra will perform the Music of Jerry Garcia Band plus songs from the Grateful Dead Repertoire. We wish Rob Eaton and his Family the best and we look forward to his return to the stage with DSO on April 13.”

Dark Star Orchestra continued with shows in Kansas this past September, when Eaton had to miss the pair of performances due to a family emergency. The band was aided by vocalist Tanya Shylock to recreate Jerry Garcia Band shows in September.
