As reported, earlier this year moe. was forced to go on an indefinite hiatus following bassist Rob Derhak’s cancer diagnosis. Derhak has shared an update on his treatment for oropharyngeal cancer.
Rob posted on Facebook an update on his condition. The bassist is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy, reaching the midway point this week for those treatments. Derhak closes by stating, “as soon as I’m able, I’ll be back on stage performing.”
Here’s Rob’s update:
Hi Friends,
I’m on my way to Boston for my daily radiation treatment. I thought I’d give you an update on how things are going. This week marked the midway point for Chemo and Radiation. I’m feeling pretty good all in all, and they say I’m looking really good for someone at this point. The travel is a pain, but I’ve have great support driving me down. Major props to my wife Becca, Brother John, friend Edie.
I can’t say thank you enough to all of the support and help from my family, friends, and Famoe.ly. I love all you guys and am grateful that you are part of my life. I’ll be better soon, and as soon as I’m able, I’ll be back on stage performing for all you guys!
Thanks,
Rob
