Ringo Starr Joins Joe Walsh At The Forum

By Andy Kahn May 21, 2016 10:37 am PDT

Guitarist Joe Walsh brought his One Hell Of A Night Tour to The Forum in Inglewood, California. The former Eagles guitarist was joined by a special guest as he welcomed The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr to join in at the start of the encore.

The founding member of The James Gang used the band’s “Walk Away” to open a set which also included takes on Walsh’s pre-Eagles group’s “Funk #49” and “The Bomber.” The show saw Walsh incorporate a number of songs from his solo work into the performance, such as “Analog Man,” “In The City,” “Life’s Been Good” and others. The concert also included songs from the Eagles’ catalog, with Walsh honoring his late band mate Glenn Frey with “Take It To The Limit” as well as the set closing “Life In The Fast Lane.”

The encore began with Walsh’s hit “Rocky Mountain Way” featuring his brother-in-law Starr on drums. The guitarist and drummer have worked together many times over their storied careers with Walsh a founding member of Ringo’s All-Starr Band. Ringo exited the stage after the sit-in and the show closed with Walsh’s “All Night Long.”
