Rick Astley Joins Foo Fighters At Summer Sonic Tokyo

Foo Fighters were among the performers yesterday at the Summer Sonic festival in Tokyo. The band “Rick Rolled” the Japanese audience with the assistance of Rick Astley, who was brought on stage to sing with Dave Grohl & Co.
Grohl introduced Astley, who was also on the Summer Sonic bill, before Foo Fighters fired up what sounded like the opening notes of “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Rather than leading the band through Nirvana’s grunge classic, Astley fronted the group on his internet trolling anthem “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
“I’m feeling fucking marvelous!,” Astley exclaimed during the performance of his hit that had elements of “Teen Spirit” sprinkled in. The collaboration was captured by Benjamin Milne view the audience-shot footage below:
