Bob Weir and Wolf Bros, Margo Price, Lucius, Jackie Greene and backed by the Muscle Shoals Studios rhythm section The Swampers will participate in the Rex Foundation’s “Ain’t No Time To Hate” virtual benefit concert. The event usually held at The Fillmore in San Francisco will go online due to the COVID-19 pandemic on December 12.

Rex Foundation, the nonprofit formed by the Grateful Dead in 1984, revealed “Ain’t No Time To Hate” will be a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead’s album, Workingman’s Dead. The participating musicians, which includes lap steel and pedal steel guitarist Greg Leisz joining Bob Weir & Wolf Bros, will each perform a song from the landmark LP.

Before the Workingman’s Dead tribute, Rex Foundation will share information about its impact this year, featuring grantee stories and highlights from this summer’s nine-day Daze Between livestream event honoring the late Jerry Garcia. There will also be a VIP pre-show in Trixie Garcia’s Lounge hosted by Garcia Hand Picked, the new line of cannabis created by the Garcia family and Holistic Industries. After the Workingman’s Dead tribute, a late-night performance by Arrows Of Neon, featuring Lebo (Dan Lebowitz), Reed Mathis, Jay Lane, Mookie Siegel and special guests, will stream from Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, California.

“The Rex Foundation is pleased to welcome the support of Jerry’s Hand Picked as a sponsor for ‘Ain’t No Time To Hate,’” said Rex Foundation executive director Cameron Sears. “Jerry was a founder of the Rex Foundation and his family remains integral part of what the Rex Foundation mission is all about. I know he is smiling down on all of us with a sense of pride and amusement at all we have been able to accomplish together.”

The Rex Foundation’s “Ain’t No Time To Hate” virtual benefit concert begins at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, December 12. The VIP pre-show hosted by Trixie Garcia and Garcia Hand Picked starts at 7 p.m. ET. Find more information and purchase tickets here.
