Report | Neil Young Files For Divorce From Pegi Young

Legendary rocker Neil Young has recently filed for divorce from his wife of 36 years, Pegi Young, according to Rolling Stone. The magazine says Neil filed the petition in San Mateo County on July 29 and a hearing has been scheduled for December 12.

Pegi and Neil have shared the stage numerous times throughout their marriage. Neil has penned many songs about Pegi including “Such a Woman,” “Unknown Legend” and “Once an Angel,” as per Rolling Stone. The pair co-founded The Bridge School in 1986 and have organized annual benefit concerts for the school each October. Pegi and Neil’s son Ben suffers from cerebral palsy and The Bridge School offers Ben and other children with severe physical disabilities a place to learn. While both Pegi and Neil were originally supposed to perform at Farm Aid next month, the former has since been removed from the lineup. We’ll be interested to see what bearing the divorce has on this October’s and future Bridge School Benefit Concerts.
