Red Hot Chili Peppers Cover Black Sabbath & Leonard Cohen In Amsterdam

Last night Red Hot Chili Peppers held the second of two shows at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The concert featured a pair of covers at the start of the encore, including takes on originals by Leonard Cohen and Black Sabbath.

The career-spanning main set Wednesday night saw such classic favorites as “Give It Away,” “Sir Psycho Sexy,” “Suck My Kiss” and “Under The Bridge” from their acclaimed Blood Sugar Sex Magik LP. The show also saw frontman Anthony Kiedis lead the group through the tour debut of the Stadium Arcadium track “Hey” as well as a cover of Robert Johnson’s “They’re Red Hot.”

Guitarist Josh Klinghoffer emerged alone to start the encore and offered up a solo rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Anthem” before the band filled in to take on “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath with bassist Flea on lead vocals. Both cover songs and the subsequent “ Goodbye Angels” were captured by PAH Music, view the footage below:
