Last night, Southern California’s own the Red Hot Chili Peppers played their second of three shows at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The band treated hometown fans to a 17-song performance that included material from throughout their career with a focus on the recently released The Getaway. Anthony Kiedis & Co. also worked a pair of covers into their main set as they tackled “Higher Ground” by Stevie Wonder and Iggy & The Stooges’ “Search & Destroy.” New Orleans funk-rockers Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue opened for the Chili Peppers as they have throughout this leg of the tour.
