While we celebrated Bob Weir’s birthday by sharing a list of ten Bobby guest spots, we can’t compete with how streaming service Rdio is celebrating the occasion. Weir, who’s a champion of the Musicians for Audio Quality Initiative, will be pleased to see Rdio has converted its entire catalog of over 30 million songs to high-quality AAC audio.

Rdio Unlimited subscribers will now have the option of listening to tracks from the servce in what’s described as “pristine-quality 320 kbps” format in addition to three existing formats. The changes are in effect across iOS, Android and the web as now Rdio users have four options to choose from depending upon their bandwidth situation.

To celebrate the milestone, Rdio has unveiled an exclusive catalog of Bob Weir tracks recorded at the Tamalpais Research Institute (TRI Studios), Weir’s state of the art studio in Marin County. The catalog features Weir as well as musicians like Dave Schools, Sammy Hagar and many others.
